VOLUNTEERING - HIGHWAY CLEANUP

The dedicated volunteers of the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs love animals and Pagosa Springs and have taken responsibility for Highway Cleanup of the section of Highway 160 from mile posts 135 to 137. Volunteers Carolyn and Pat Ullrich obtained the location and organized the first cleanup on October 6, 2007. The great volunteer turnout collected about 16 bags of trash, which were picked up by the highway department on October 9,2007. Three to four pickups are planned per year with the next one in Spring 2008.
